On the 31st of March 2023, a workshop on the 150th anniversary of the creation in 1873 of a Roman section of the École française d’Athènes, which is at the very origin of the École française de Rome, will be organised in Rome. On this occasion, the coordinator of HAEMUS will present some elements of the long tradition of Balkan studies in both institutions, as one of the founding elements of the network.
